WHERE THE HELL IS MY TRAFFIC!

Forgive the title of this post, but considering what it's about and the number of persons (millions of who) i'm quite sure are asking the same question everyday, i figured it's kind of an appropraite one. Its been about three weeks since i started this blog, and its been a great getaway for me, sharing ideas, thoughts and passions. But then again it only makes a difference when you check on your sites statistics to see that you've been getting visitors. Right now i get an average hits of about 20 persons daily which for a pretty young blog isn't all that bad, (my first experience blogging was far worse). But there's always that feeling of better expectations, the want for more, probably a hundred hits daily might be okay, two hundred maybe? The thing is everyone hopes for a great result or turnout for his hardwork, so after writing a great post, taking the time and extra effort just to make it perfect for your audience, you upload it and expect to see a great statistics about your post view, but shockingly it's just a handful of readers. It's just like renting a 2000 sitter conference hall for just an audience of 20. It's a waste and dissapointment *don't you agree?*.

First i identified the problem (which is my lack of traffic) and
naturally, went about trying to  discover a solution.
Here's a tip on how i did that.

  • Ask questions from more experienced bloggers,* best way to do that is to join a blogging forum or search out articles or blog posts relating to your problem and leave comments.*

  • After all my research and all the advice i got from different great people, three suggestion always kept coming up, so i want to share that with you guys. Hope it helps.

    THINGS YOU SHOULD DO TO GET YOUR TRAFFIC RATINGS UP!

  • Guest Posting; this suggestion came up at almost all articles and blog posts i read.
    Writing a great post for a more popular blog than yours, and of course inserting your own blog link somewhere in the post so readers of the blog you are guest posting on could then check out your own blog.
  • SEO; of course being able to manipulate the search engines robots to feature your blog post as one it's top search results of searches relevant to your blog topic does alot for your blog stats, as there's no telling the number of people interested in the information you are delivering in your blogpost.
  • Promoting your blog; paying for listings on popular websites and blog directories, integrating your blog with social media networks such as google+, facebook, twitter, writing good and audience engaging posts.
  • Post comments, if you've got questions or contributions

    Advertising Your Website Link.

    Having a Website, blog, splash page, an affiliate link or even a forum post or an article on the internet is almost the same thing as creating a new product or idea in real life.
    You want people to see it, patronize it, get it's meaning, it's significance, you want to reach out to a crowd of alike or similar people like yourself, a target audience you want, which are more than likely to understand you and your product and probably patronize your idea or product.
    This is a great dream which can only be actualized by you making your idea or product known to the public (advertising). Just hosting a website online or posting a blog post and hoping for people to somehow come across it is not just enough.
    It takes alot of hardwork and great advertising strategies to get people interested in you and what you are selling.
    In real life, a salesman's appearance and composure is usually what gets him noticed, his pitch and how convincing he sounds is what gets him sales. The same logic applies to websites, but here we are more concerned with getting your site noticed.

  • The first step in generating people's interest in your site is "advertising" and just like the salesman, the number of interest generated by your site ads starts with its appearance. It's theme, text structure, graphics quality, it's design.
    A catchy or trending theme usually piques or attracts curiosity from an audience and curiosity i've heard is one of the hardest feeling to deny.
    Now there are numerous means of advertising your website, with some more cheaper than others while some more effective (would get back to this later)

  • The second step is maintaining your audience's interest long enough for them to get the information you are trying to deliver about your product. A good and well organized interactive website design can help you accomplish this.

  • Another method of redirecting traffic to your site is via search engines optimization popularly referred to as "SEO". There are lots of searches carried out daily on search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo and a lot more. Having your site listed among the search results of searches related to your area of expertise or services could have your website receiving a buttload of traffic. Manipulating SEO is a field that requires some level of experience on how the internet works, understanding web languages, and a willingness to explore and research keywords relevant to your sites and searches made on search engines and how they could be manipulated to get you listed among the top search results.

  • Means of advertising includes; banners, text ads,safelists, traffic exchange sites, ptc sites, social media networks, website directories, classified board sites and so on.

  • A research on advertising mediums should be carried out before engaging one and a budget prepared tailored to suit your advertising needs.

    THE START OF A VERY PROFITABLE CAREER OR HOBBY ON THE INTERNET

     MAKING MONEY ONLINE!!!

              Making money online is something that almost everyone at some point has attempted or would attempt; this is probably because the internet is the largest single database community of numerous residents or visitors of varied origins and nationality all interested in one thing “information”. These information are varied according to niches.
              To earn online income one has to decide on which niche he/she wants to exploit, this requires or determines on the extent to which one is familiar with the niche he decides to partake in or how curious and dedicated one is to learning about that particular niche before starting up and promoting a business in that niche.

    *Note:  A niche can be defined simply as a selected specialized
    category of topic, community or an area which one is
    familiar with or knowledgeable about.
    When selecting a niche, it’s usually advisable to pick
    one with a lot of public appeal, something lots of people
    Are curious about which has a high market demand.*

              There are numerous mediums through which earning online is possible, some of the most popular means includes;
    1.     Affiliate marketing
    2.     Paid to click sites
    3.     Blogging
    4.     Survey sites
    5.     Information marketing
    6.     Freelance work sites.

    AFFILIATE MARKETING: This is probably the most popular means of earning online income. As an affiliate of a program or service you are paid commissions for every registered member to the program under your affiliate link.
              The problem of affiliate marketing is finding the right program or service in your niche of expertise to promote, another problem is that not all niches have affiliates programs incorporated.
              In order to find the affiliates program that suits your needs, it is advisable to register with affiliates directories and networking sites for a vast selection of legitimate and trending affiliates program.
    Visit AFFILIATE SEEKING and select a program from a category of niches.

    PAID TO CLICK SITES: Second most popular online earning programs are paid to click sites, these sites are dominated by two major players; the advertisers and the publishers.
    The advertisers pay for their ads to be displayed on these sites in order to drive traffic to their sites or affiliate links;

           *Note: as an affiliate you would learn that one of  the most important     tasks to be completed in order to be successful is that of generating traffic to your offer. PTC sites are a great medium for advertising your affiliate link and driving traffic to your sites and affiliate links.*

    The publisher gets paid for viewing advertisement placed by the advertisers. In order to make a sustainable income from PTC sites, it is advisable to join at least three (3) of such programs. Membership to these sites are usually free, also there is the option of upgrading of your membership in order to enjoy more benefits, such as higher number of available ads for viewing and a higher PTC view rate.
    Some great paying PTC sites which I recommend you try out includes;
    BLOGGING: Blogging has gained a lot of popularity in the work online circle, this is as a result of the popular google adsense program and its alternatives which pays you for placing advertisments on your blog either per ads viewed or ads clicked by your blog audience or visitors. But note, before starting a blog it is advised that you reseacrh a profitable, trending and popular niche which you have some sort of interest in or are knowledgable about and that you at least have writing skills and can convey on interesting topics to captivate your audience.
              Starting a blog can be fun, easy and a great hobby, but as a business which it should be considered as if you are expecting to start earning from it, it can be a little tasking, because before you can monetize your blog with google adsense or its alternatives, you have to be driving an average population of traffic to your blog and building your subscribers base.
              Start blogging free with Google Blogger or Wordpress.

    SURVEY SITES: these sites are great paying sites which could earn you a lot of monthly income depending on your qualification and dedication.
    A survey by top market companies are carried out via these survey sites in order to get through to their large customer base and get public opinions about their products for which they pay you the survey taker for completing and validating each survey you  complete.
    Some popular survey sites which are great paying forums and which I recommend include;
    SURVEYHEAD
    VINDALE RESEARCH
    SWAGBUCKS
    GLOBALTESTMARKET
    TOLUNA
    MYSURVEY

    INFORMATION MARKETING: This is a not so popular means of getting paid in the earn online industry but can earn you a lot of cash just for knowing a lot information that sells. For example, lets say you know alot about pastry, you could decide to put all of your recipes together into a pastry cookbook and then sell it on the internet to people in the pastry niche seeking for the information about pastry that you can provide them with. Information can be packaged as ebooks, video series in a dvd, softwares, tickets and so on, so long as it has a high market demand and you got it to supply.
           *Usually you need your own site or a blog for this medium of earning online. TIP: It is advisable to    extract an excerpt from your work if it is an ebook, probably the table of contents and a few paragraphs which potential buyers can read, something to give them an idea of what they are purchasing*

    FREELANCE SITES: Working online as a freelancer is another way of earning online income. As a freelancer, you bid for available jobs for which you qualify and can fulfil all necessary requirements.
    There is a date of completion alloted to each project, if you successfully complete the project and on schedule, before payment is then remmitted to your account.

          There are a lot of different ways to earn on the internet, all that's needed is the dedication, patience, zeal and the obvious necessities, a computer set (PC/Laptop), an active internet connection, a notepad and a pen ( for taking down important notes and organizing the programs you decide to be a part of.)
          Always make sure you carry out comprehensive researches and validation on all programs you get introduced to before you make the crucial decision of becoming a part of that program, also make a habit of visiting informative forums, read articles and blog post related to your area of interest.
